I work with found wood and objects to create sculptures that invite interaction. I like to use the wood and materials in the condition in which they are found in order to preserve the scars, distress, and stains that have been impressed upon each piece by people, by nature, or by time. These details tell a story, and on personal levels these details help shape who we are. In working with used materials I can thus explore the themes of trauma, uselessness, rebirth, and movement in my work.
